Faith-based and community organizations serve some of the most vulnerable populations in the world. They are also often embedded in communities and uniquely qualified to identify and meet local needs. The Center for Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships (FBNP) works to build bridges between USAID and faith-based and community organizations. With its mandate from President Biden’s February 2021 Executive Order establishing the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships, FBNP reaffirms the U.S. Government’s longstanding commitment to work with faith-based and community organizations, including diaspora groups, volunteer networks, and foundations, to advance shared diplomatic, international development, and humanitarian goals worldwide.

This program is an initiative form the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA, Veteran Readiness and Employment (VR&E) program. It provides training and experience to Veterans. The program is for Veterans in VA's VR&E program who struggle to obtain employment. VA determines Veteran eligibility.
Once approved for the program, a participating employer hires the Veteran. VA identifies suitable placements and coordinates the process. Ideally, employment continues after completing the program. The SEI program is beneficial to both Veterans and employers.
The VA NPWE program provides eligible Veterans and Servicemembers with training and practical job experience. This program is ideal for Veterans and Servicemembers who have clear career goals. It’s also beneficial for those who learn well in a hands-on setting and may have had a hard time getting a job due to lack of experience.
The NPWE program may be set up only in Federal, state or local government agencies. The employer may hire a Veteran or Servicemember at any point during his/her participation in the NPWE.
